Thorlux is celebrating its win at the Lux Awards, taking home Supplier of the Year, awarded to “the lighting equipment maker who has shown exceptional performance and innovation.”

The judges described Thorlux as "one of the most respected brands in the industry and praised its consistency, its quality and its commitment to sustainability. The company recently unveiled a massive solar power farm on the roof of its factory in Redditch. This consists of 900 photovoltaic panels which help power the machinery, servers, lighting and even the firm’s fleet of electric vehicles. The company has even invested in its own carbon offsetting programme, planting 150,000 trees on specially-purchased land in Devauden in Wales to offset its carbon footprint.”

Mike Allcock, FW Thorpe Plc Chairman commented: “We are thrilled to have received this award which is a great accolade for the hard work and commitment of all our employees. We strive to be at the forefront of the lighting industry offering innovative and high performance lighting solutions, designed and manufactured in the UK. We take our environmental obligations very seriously and we have implemented a variety of measures to limit our impact on the environment. It is pleasing that the Lux judges highlighted this specifically within their feedback”
