Cooking processes inevitably produce heat and steam, so luminaires need to be able to cope with this environment.
Luminaires need to have a suitable IP rating to ensure moisture does not enter the luminaire and condense.
The component most sensitive to high temperatures is the electronic driver, so high-quality LED drivers with integral thermal management should be specified. This type of driver reduces the output power by dimming the LEDs when its maximum temperature rating is reached, preserving the driver and preventing thermal damage to the luminaire.
Please contact your local sales engineer or the technical helpline to discuss temperature ratings and special thermal requirements.
